End of year breakup family celebration 2017

To celebrate the end of 2017, we had a family celebration at Koah Hall.

We had a graduation ceremony, where the children could share what they had achieved that year and their goals for the next year.

We had a shared dinner and then a concert,
where people could do a short play, tell a joke, or do some tricks.

After that, most of the families camped out for the night.
The teens had the whole hall to themselves, which they enjoyed greatly.

The next day, before everyone went home, we enjoyed a swim in the nearby Clohesy river

It was a lovely way to end the year and we're all looking forward to seeing what 2018 brings!

Cairns Aquarium Visit November 2017 - By Tekira age 14

Cairns Aquarium Visit

In November we went to the Cairns Aquarium and had a guided tour.

The tour started off with a look a some freshwater animals.

We saw turtles

Eels

Even a freshwater ray!

We got to see and touch some lizards, the little kids enjoyed that!

Moving on, we saw the marine animals

We saw jellyfish

Lionfish

Moray eels

Hammerhead sharks

And lots of different fish!

One of my favourite parts of the tour was the touch tank,
where we were able to feel some starfish and sea cucumbers.

This was such an amazing experience,
seeing and learning about different wildlife that lives in the rivers and seas of Australia.

Everyone really enjoyed it!

I'll definitely come again!
