Beach Camp 2015

Beach Camp by Tekira aged 11.

We went to Kurrimine Beach for a homeschool camp.

We did lots of fun things like swimming in the pool, finding shells on the beach and making sand sculptures.

We also did a concert on the Saturday night.

The Sunday at camp was mother’s day and we made some nice food for the mums and some menus and had a mother’s day cafĂ©.

Kurrimine Beach camp was so fun and I hope we can go again next year!

Term 1, 2015

Term one was full of sharing –ATHENS families sharing their cultures, skills and company.
We had a lovely start to the term with sunshine and swimming at Malanda Falls, followed by 2 different cultural days - Chinese and French.

We rounded out the next few weeks with science, art, henna, planning and a rainforest walk.
We also had a wonderful extra outing this term, an impromptu visit to the Cairns Regional Gallery.

At the gallery, the children saw an amazing exhibition made of cardboard box houses and afterwards participated in a workshop to make their own version of one.

Term 2 is looking like another busy and exciting one, including our annual beach camp, more art, swimming, theatre performance, market day and outdoor games fun.
